Worm Eats Bird worships L'Oiseau de feu...
This art work was entirely made by Tamlyn Hodson who is Director of Worm Eats Bird and the creator of all our products to date. It's inspired by Igor Stravinsky's musical piece for a ballet and measures 48cms across by 36cms high. It's a single piece of vegetable tanned soling cow hide which is the thickest and strongest grade of leather we use for the soles of our Derby Day Shoe. The lines are deeply engraved into the top surface of the leather and filled with flexible white acrylic paint. The colours are applied by deep penetrating permanent ink. The surface has been varnished for protection and lustre. The rear of the piece has been left in its natural state so it can be lightly oiled on that side to ensure the piece stays nourished for many years. This will perhaps only have to be done once every two or three years and the front will never require oiling. Any dust on the front can be lightly brushed away with a soft dry white cloth or feather duster. It will be sent to the buyer in a tasteful picture frame so it can hang on a wall out of direct sunlight. The image will only be used for this single specific item and is therefore an original and unique art work.
